Kale crisps

Kale crisp recipe

Kale crisps

When I first made these they were horrible!!!!! It took some trial and error to get it right. This method gets me perfect kale crisps every time.

  • Kale
  • Salt
  • Rice
  • Oil

Wash and stalk your kale (I stalk in-front of the TV or to one of my fav murder podcasts). Let it dry thoroughly, maybe by a radiator or use a salad spinner. I have also read online it is good to soak in bicarbonate of soda to get rid of all the chemicals thoroughly.

Heat the oven to 180 degrees. Spread the kale over the baking tray with a little oil. I tend to use frylight of course as only one cal per spray. Once the oven is heated  bake for 5 mins then turn off the oven. Leave the kale in the oven until the oven is cool. You might need to adjust times slightly depending on your oven, do a small batch first, don’t waste all your hard-work de-stalking and then it burns eeekkk.

If you are eating straight away just sprinkle salt and serve if packing up for later add some rice to your Tupperware to absorb moisture and leave off the salt until you serve. I actually prefer mine to the ones you buy in Pret but those ones are pretty good too if you get caught short.
